the buffalo

This particular suiseki called The Buffalo is placed on a Canadian pine wood daiza, or wooden base, that has been carved to create the right harmony to the stone.

The stone is ammolite, which is a 70 million year old precious gem discovered by the Blackfoot Indians. Known as Iniskim, the stone was used by native families for its healing properties. Ammolite is a fossil that is found in the Badlands of Alberta, mined for jewellry and sold around the world. This stone is in its pure form.

Artist Bernhard Keber has a passion for living art that enhances the beauty of Mother Nature. Of Austrian decent, his love for Alberta where he now resides is evident in this Suiseki.
